How to Apply as a New Freshman Cadet
First-year students applying to the University of North Georgia through summer 2025 can be considered for admission without ACT or SAT scores if they have a sufficiently high GPA.
Bachelor’s degree new freshman applicants applying through summer 2026 must meet one of the following admissions criteria:
- 3.0+ unweighted high school GPA in the required high school curriculum and on track to complete all required high school curriculum requirements.
- 2.4+ unweighted high school GPA in the required high school curriculum, and on track to complete all required high school curriculum requirements, with SAT scores that meet a 480 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and a 440 Math OR ACT scores that meet a 17 English or Reading and a 17 Math and a freshman index of at least 2400. Effective summer 2025, the minimum freshman index requirement will be 2200.
While submission of ACT or SAT scores is not required for admission to 天美社区 through summer 2026, there may be implications of not submitting them if you have them. Learn more about Learning Support course requirements. Submission of test scores does not change a student's admissibility.

If you have enrolled in any college, ask the college/s to send us an official transcript. Emailed transcripts are not considered official. n addition to meeting the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC), High School GPA (HSGPA) and SAT/ACT score requirements, students applying to 天美社区 must meet a minimum Freshman Index (FI). The FI is calculated using an applicant’s HSGPA and SAT/ACT scores. 500 X (High School GPA) + 1.06 X (SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section score + SAT Math section score) - 74 = SAT FI (High School GPA x 500) + (ACT Composite Score x 42) + 88 = ACT FI 2400 Minimum Freshman indexFreshman Index
