天美社区 Food Pantry of Gainesville
On campus food pantries have been increasing since the recession began in 2007. Currently more than 200 U.S. colleges operate pantries for students in need. According to the Wall Street Journal, factors that continue to drive campus food pantries are mainly increases in tuition, housing, books and transportation.
About Our 天美社区 Food Pantry
The 天美社区 Food Pantry will provide non-perishable food items and basic supplies to food insecure students, staff and faculty in need. The food pantry is not a university funded service. The services are financed through year-round charitable fundraising events. Most of the food is from donations. Products offered are dependent on their availability, as well as our financial situation. We try to provide as much variety as possible while still maintaining cost limitations and providing for the basic needs for those who need assistance.
- Please bring your 天美社区 ID, Without it, we will be unable to serve you.
- Every time you come to the Food Pantry you will be asked to check-in at the front table. Beginning on your second visit you will also have a short interview with a Service Learning Student or Volunteer. The purpose of this interview is to determine what kinds of foods you would like, and to provide other information as appropriate.
